October 20, 2006, Newsletter Issue #25: Shipping Food in the Mail

Tip of the Week

If you order gourmet prepared food, you can arrange to have the food delivery the next day or on a day you specify if you're willing to pay the extra cost. Express delivery such as Next day, Second Day, Afternoon and Saturday delivery is available in most areas at additional cost.

However, many orders ship to arrive within one week from receipt of order. You don't need to be home when the meal arrives. FedEx can leave the cooler for you at the door (and many companies use weatherproof containers so it will not be affected by the elements). The meals delivered will be safe and frozen until you get home.

Shipping charges are usually based on the shipment weight and volume.

Many companies will ship nationwide.
